In the August 20, 2010 issue of The Week the following article outlined Internet sites for finding lost pets! Place each of these sites in your favorites.....just in case.
The Center for Lost Pets, created by a team of veterinarians, shelter managers, and other experts, links owners who have lost a pet with good neighbors who have found one. Click on "Lost or Found," and the site will help match your dog's description with recently found pups.
Together Tag claims to be the country's largest pet alert network. Besides instantly broadcasting lost pet alerts, the site helps make searches more effective by allowing owners to report a missing pet to shelters, create fliers, and alert other nearby animal owners.
Fido Finder requires owners to register, after which they can post classified ads, search listings, print posters, and receive an e-mail when matching dogs are registered on the site. Fido Finder also offers a "kitty-centered sibling site," Tabby Tracker.
